DMAE is an amino alcohol that is normally found in tiny amounts in the brain. DAME is widely regarded as a precursor to the essential nutrient choline. Choline is needed for the production of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that is involved in the transmission of nerve signals and normal brain function.
