Acetyl-L-Carnitine & Alpha-Lipoic Acid is a combination of 500 mg Acetyl-L-Carnitine and 200 mg Alpha-Lipoic Acid per tablet.
Acetyl-L-carnitine is most strongly represented in the brain cells. In addition, acetyl-L-carnitine is involved in the transport of fatty acids into the mitochondria and in the production of energy there.
Alpha lipoic acid is both fat and water soluble. As a result, it can reach the more watery cell areas, blood and extracellular space as well as the fatty cell parts (e.g. the cell walls, membranes), lipoproteins in the blood or the fatty nerve sheaths. Alpha lipoic acid is involved in the energy metabolism.
